Darpan Registration the unique identifier for every Indian NGO.

NGO Darpan is the database and registration portal for non-governmental organisations in India, jointly maintained by Niti Aayog and the National Informatics Centre. Every NGO seeking to receive grants from central government ministries, state governments, public sector undertakings, or to apply for foreign contribution permission under FCRA must first register on the NGO Darpan portal and obtain a unique Darpan ID. The ID is now a prerequisite for almost every form of public funding, regulatory recognition, and CSR partnership available to the NGO sector.

Darpan registration is available to public trusts, societies, and Section 8 companies that are duly registered under their applicable founding law. The application requires the entity's PAN, registration certificate, name and PAN of all trustees, board members or governing body, contact details of the chief functionary, area of operation, sector of activity, and details of the bank account in which grants would be received. Once submitted, the application is verified by the Niti Aayog system and a unique Darpan ID is generated electronically.
