CSR-1 Registration your gateway to receiving CSR funds.
End-to-end CSR-1 registration services in Mumbai and across India — Form CSR-1 filing on the MCA portal for NGOs, public trusts, registered societies, and Section 8 companies to obtain a CSR Registration Number and become an eligible CSR implementing agency.
CSR-1 registration is mandatory for any entity that wishes to undertake Corporate Social Responsibility activities and receive CSR funding from companies. Since 1 April 2021, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has required every CSR implementing agency to file Form CSR-1 and obtain a unique CSR Registration Number. Without this number, an NGO, trust, or society cannot legally receive CSR contributions from any company governed by Section 135 of the Companies Act 2013.
Form CSR-1, formally titled the Registration of Entities for Undertaking CSR Activities, is filed electronically on the MCA portal and is digitally signed by the entity's authorised signatory and certified by a practising Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, or Cost Accountant. On successful filing, the system generates a CSR Registration Number in the format CSRXXXXXXXX, which the entity must quote on every CSR engagement, agreement, and utilisation report.
Our CSR-1 registration practice handles the entire process for NGOs, public charitable trusts, registered societies, and Section 8 companies — eligibility verification, collation of incorporation and statutory documents, validation of 12A and 80G registrations, digital signature setup, accurate preparation and certification of Form CSR-1, and resolution of any portal errors or resubmission queries. We ensure your CSR-1 registration is completed cleanly so your organisation is fully eligible to partner with corporates on CSR projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
Form CSR-1 is the registration form filed with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs by entities that intend to undertake CSR activities and receive CSR funding from companies. From 1 April 2021, only entities registered through Form CSR-1 and holding a valid CSR Registration Number are eligible to act as CSR implementing agencies.
CSR-1 registration can be obtained by a Section 8 company, a registered public trust, or a registered society having an established track record of at least three years in undertaking similar activities, as well as entities established by the Central or State Government. Entities set up by a company under Section 8, trust, or society do not require the three-year track record.
Documents include the PAN of the entity, registration certificate (Section 8 incorporation certificate, trust deed, or society registration certificate), 12A and 80G certificates where applicable, details and digital signature of the authorised signatory, and certification by a practising professional such as a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, or Cost Accountant.
There is no government filing fee for Form CSR-1. However, the form must be digitally signed by the entity's authorised signatory and certified by a practising professional, whose professional charges and digital signature certificate costs apply.
Once Form CSR-1 is correctly filed and digitally signed on the MCA portal, the CSR Registration Number, in the format CSRXXXXXXXX, is generated electronically and is generally available within a few working days, subject to successful processing of the form.
